I first met John in the eary 90's in the early days of my own faith. John was a gentle and kind fellow. I was immediately drawn to him. We sparked up a friendship and over the years I was immensely impressed by his many acts of quiet service which often people knew nothing of, even volunteering for the Samaritans.
On one occasion John asked me if we could go and pray all night together which we did, stopping for breakfast in an all night Cafe at about 3am in the morning. I was honoured that he asked me to do that.
We lost contact for a while but in 2019 we bumped into each other in Harrow and picked up where we left off. I see providence in this now as we actually had coffee together the day before he was first admmitted to hospital.
John was one of those people who God allows to come into your life and enriches it.
